COBUG, the Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds, is coordinating efforts with the New York State AFL-CIO to ask the NY State Legislature to include healthcare provisions, including COBRA subsidies for workers in the Entertainment Industry in the upcoming budget. Our Secretary-Treasurer Rina Saltzman has been an integral part of this important effort.
The current COBRA program for entertainment workers, which would cover 50% of member’s healthcare premiums is set to expire July 2021.
