In Memoriam: William Schelble

It is with sadness ATPAM announces the passing on January 9, 2012 of Retired Gold Card Press Agent Bill Schelble in Milwaukee.  Brother Schelble was 81 years old and had been a member of ATPAM since 1973.  Among the productions Brother Schelble represented were:  A Chorus Line, Coastal Disturbances, The Rink, The Water Engine/Mr. Happiness, Dancin’ and numerous other productions at Circle in the Square and The Lincoln Center Theater. 

Bill started off in show business as an actor after having studied at the Pasadena Playhouse.  He danced in the chorus of the movie Singin’ In The Rain.  Not long after moving to New York in the mid-1950’s he was hired as a personal assistant to Burt Shevelove, for whom he worked for many years.

Bill served stateside in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.    

Brother Schelble is survived by his sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
