It is with sadness that ATPAM announces the death on December 16, 2016 of Gold Card Manager Sherman W. Gross, at his home in Floral Park, New York. Brother Gross was 90-years-old and had been a member of ATPAM since 1965.
Sherman retired from the industry in 2001 after spending over a decade as the House Manager at the Music Box Theatre on Broadway, which at that time was co-owned by the Irving Berlin Estate and the Shubert Organization.
Sherman also had a long and distinguished career as a Broadway General Manager. Among the Broadway productions he managed were: Shakespeare’s Cabaret, Heathen! Nash at Nine, Hamlet (starring Nicol Williamson), Cop-Out, Spofford, Henry, Sweet Henry (starring Don Ameche), The World of Charled Aznavour, Peterpat and Bajour (staring Chita Rivera and Herschel Bernardi with a young Michael Bennett in the cast).
Sherman is survived by his wife Renee, a brother, son Marc and daughter Ellen, in addition to five grandchildren.
He will be missed.
