In Memoriam: James Preston

It is with sadness ATPAM announces the passing on August 10, 2011 of Retired Gold Card Manager James Preston of Las Vegas, NV.  Brother Preston was 77 years old and had been a member of ATPAM since 1959.  Among the productions Brother Preston managed were the touring company of LUV and several of the Broadway engagements of Marcel Marceau.  He was also a principal of Preston-Olsen Productions in New York.   In addition to being a member of ATPAM, Brother Preston was an active member of IATSE Stagehands Local 33 in Los Angeles, where he worked for many years on The Phantom of the Opera. 

Brother Preston served in the US Army during the Korean War and in post WW II Europe. 

An avid golfer, he retired to Las Vegas in 2002.  Donations in his name can be made to: The Shade Tree Shelter Program, 1 West Owens Avenue, North Las Vegas, NV 89030 (www.theshadetree.org).   

Brother Preston is survived by a daughter and a grandson.
